We’re proud to announce that Elisabetta Rotolo, has been invited to speak at Laval Virtual 2025, the world’s leading event for XR and immersive technologies.
She took the stage in the visionary panel:
“Your Virtual Butler Might Be Lying: Trust, AI, and XR Realities”. Moderated by Gregory Maubon, with speakers Rémi Brun (MOCAPLAB) and Dr. Alexandra Sierra.
Elisabetta explored how AI-powered virtual assistants and characters can become emotional, ethical and creative companions in storytelling, culture, and education.
At MIAT, every Masterclass and immersive production is a space where AI becomes a partner in storytelling, education, and design. But one principle remains clear:
Content still leads. Creativity is profoundly human.
She emphasised that the real transformation begins with education. At MIAT, students and creators learn not just how to use GenAI — but how to think and communicate with it ethically, critically, and creatively.
“Ethics is not an afterthought — it’s a design principle.”
Every AI assistant or immersive character MIAT develops is built with privacy-, equity-, and safety-by-design, with accountability and transparency embedded from the start. In an era where AI agents simulate everything from historical figures to artist personas, Elisabetta posed a crucial question: ”Are we curating culture — or compressing it into scripts?AI agents should serve context, not dictate it. Be mirrors, not megaphones. Presence, not performance.”
The future of AI and XR isn’t just about innovation — it’s about imagination, ethics, and human storytelling. Thank you to the Laval Virtual community for sparking this vital conversation on the future of AI, ethics, and human connection.
